Chat Server TroubleShooting
You need to start up the Chat Blazer evaluation server before the chat client can connect to the chat server. For more details on how to start up the chat server, please read the accompanying Chat Blazer documentation. (packed in manualeval.zip)
Check to ensure that you did not exit from your telnet session after starting the chat server (if you had telnet into your account originally). Otherwise, the chat server will be terminated. However, if you have ensured that the chat server is running and the "Server Not Up" message is still displayed, then you are most probably accessing the chat from within your own network protected by a firewall. The Chat Blazer evaluation does not support firewall communication. Only our full commercial Enterprise version supports firewall communication. You may try to evaluate the chat client using a dialup account or a network segment not protected by any firewall. Alternatively, you can ask your network administrator to open a port on the firewall. The port number by default is 7999. That is the port number that comes already configured with our Chat Blazer Evaluation version.
